  3. Bridlington family give DNA samples to identify river body

    Police say they've not yet identified a body found earlier this month in the River Calder in West Yorkshire. 

    The remains were found close to Wakefield where Bridlington man Damian Vernon was last seen in December 2014. 

    Mr. Vernon's relatives have given DNA samples to help with identification

  4. Police want to speak to men about nightclub attack

    Humberside Police say they want to speak to several men in connection with a disturbance outside of the Sugar Mill nightclub in Hull.

    It happened just before 23:00 on Saturday, 7 November 2015.

  5. Entertainment ahead of Tour de Yorkshire Race

    Stilt walkers, uni-cyclists and stunt riders will be entertaining the crowds during the Tour de Yorkshire.

    Cyclists taking part including British world champion Lizzie Armistead (pictured). Lizzie will race for the most lucrative prize in women's cycling.

    This year's winner will get £15,000 - more than the men's race.

  7. Traffic and Travel: Disruption on First Hull Trains

    There's no service on First Hull Trains between Stevenage and Peterborough.

    A person has been hit by a train.

    All lines are currently closed with emergency services attending the incident.

    It is also affecting Virgin Trains East Coast, Grand Central and Great Northern services.

    Delays, alterations and cancellations are expected.

  10. Puffins looking a little bit different this year at Bempton

    Liz Langthorne sent us this picture of the "puffin" at Bempton Cliffs.

    Experts have been counting the famous birds with orange beaks.

    They are endangered and were relieved to find more than 1,000 breeding pairs.

  11. Council confirms number of library closures

    Almost 8,000 jobs in UK libraries have disappeared in six years, about a quarter of the overall total, an investigation by the BBC has revealed.  

    Over the same period, some 15,500 volunteers have been recruited and 343 libraries have closed, leading to fears over the future of the profession. 

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council says four libraries and mobile libraries have closed since 2010.

    The Environment Minister Liz Truss wants retailers to stock more British sparkling wines.

    It's after the UK wine industry reported a bumper year last year.

    Ms Truss wants to see a ten-fold increase in exports within the next four years.

  15. Burglars target areas of Hull

    There have been 17 burglaries in a fortnight in the Spring Bank and Beverley Road areas of Hull.

    Humberside Police say nine of the properties were targeted because their windows and doors were open.

    They happened in the afternoon between 13:00 and 15:00.
