  4. Heightened security at regions ports and airports following Brussels bombings

    Everyone needs to work to together now more than ever. That's from Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire MEP Timothy Kirkhope, following today's bombings in Belgium.

    Over 30 are dead and 200 injured in two bomb attacks on Brussels.

    Security's been stepped up at Humberside Airport and at each of the Humber ports following this morning's attacks on Brussels. 

    Now the Home Office has announced vehicles coming off ferries from Europe will be searched more thoroughly and are warning of only essential travel to Belgium.

    Humberside Police says it has increased its presence at key locations including transport hubs, to protect the public and provide reassurance. 

    They're urging the public to remain alert and to report anything suspicious.

  8. Don't get caught in long A&E queues

    Your being asked not to go to A&E over the Easter weekend unless its a critical or life threatening emergency.

    NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group say you can go to a Minor Injuries Unit to get assessed or you can get medical advice from your chemist.

    Most doctor's surgeries are closed on Good Friday, 25th March and over the Easter weekend until Tuesday 29th March.

    You can ring the 111 non-emergency number 24 hours a day for advice as well as help finding the right service.

  9. Security's been tightened at all Humber ports and Humberside Airport

    There's been an increase in security at all Humber Ports and Humberside Airport following this morning's bomb attacks in Brussels (pictured).  

    Humberside Police say, like other UK forces, they are increasing their presence at key locations including transport hubs to provide protection and reassurance.

    Humberside Airport says although they don't have any direct flights to Brussels the police presence at the airport has been increased and everyone remains vigilant.

    Humberside Police are asking people and businesses to report anything suspicious to the confidential Anti Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321 or in an emergency to ring 999.

    The BBC is giving every year seven child in the UK a pocket-sized computer to help them learn computer code. 

    That's the language that tells electronic devices what to do.

  14. Sport: Rovers wait to find out Challenge Cup opponents

    Rovers will find out tonight who they'll play in the 5th round of the Challenge Cup

    They join the surviving amateur and part-time clubs along with Widnes, Salford and Wakefield who also finished in the bottom four of Super League.

  16. Security tightened at Humber ports following Brussels attacks

    After the Brussels attacks, security's been stepped up at the Humber ports. 

    There'll be more in-depth searches of vehicles coming from Europe.

    There will also be a greater Border Force presence at ports and search dogs will be deployed at key ports across the country. 

  17. Hull City's membership scheme's been put on hold

    Hull City have confirmed that controversial plans to replace the traditional season ticket with a membership scheme have been put on hold. 

    The club say they will take time to review the details of the proposed system based on "varied and wide-ranging feedback received from supporters". 

    The scheme, which was first revealed by the BBC last week, has already generated mixed response with many feeling they would be paying more than they do under the current system.

    It'll gradually become cloudier, with the east coast hanging on to the best of the brightness. 

    Remaining dry with light north westerly winds, and highs of around 12C (54F).
