  3. Archbishop of York at Paragon Station this evening

    The Archbishop of York will be in Hull later as part of his Yorkshire pilgrimage.

    At 18:00 Dr Sentamu will be at Paragon Station and is inviting people to join him walking through the city centre to St Mary's Lowgate before volunteering at a soup kitchen.

  6. Yorkshire Wolds scenic railway gets unusual gift

     Drax Power Station has donated 450 feet of railway line to the Yorkshire Wolds Railway at Sledmere.

    It'll allow the heritage attraction to more than double the length of its track.

    The Yorkshire Wolds Railway was set up in 2008 with the aim of restoring a scenic section of the former Malton to Driffield railway line across the Yorkshire Wolds.

  7. Hull City of Culture: Volunteer roadshow dates

    A full schedule for the 20 roadshows aimed at recruiting thousands of volunteers to help with Hull's City of Culture year in 2017 have been published.

    From today you can apply to be part of the team that it's hoped will act in a similar way to the games makers of the London 2012 Olympics.

  8. Prime Minister tells Brigg and Goole MP he will look at biomass subsidies

    The Prime Minister says the government will look into the possibility of providing greater subsidies for the biomass industry. 

    David Cameron made the promise in reply to a question from the Brigg and Goole Conservative MP Andrew Percy.

    Mr Percy quoted a recent study which suggests that taxpayers and bill payers could save billions of pounds if biomass providers are offered a minimum price for their energy through a technique known as "contracts for difference" or CFD.

  11. Hull man released after terror arrest

    A man from Hull who was arrested in connection with terrorism offences has been released without charge.

    A European Arrest Warrant was issued for 39-year-old Bakr Hamad in November and the Italian authorities had applied for him to be extradited.

    He was linked to a jihadist network, but the Italian extradition application has now been withdrawn.

  16. Talking bollards with Hull City Council

  17. City of Culture: Volunteer applications now open

    Applications are now open for people who want to volunteer for City of Culture 2017 in Hull.

    There will also be a series of roadshow events across the city to encourage people to take part.

    The first will be held in April at the Freedom Centre.

    Moderate north westerly winds, highs of 5C.

    Tonight the rain gradually clears to the east, as low pressure moves away from us. Light patchy rain remaining into the early hours with lows of 2C .

  19. Traffic and travel: Debris on road and flooding in places

    Just two things to tell you about on the roads.

    There's debris on the road on A63 westbound between the A1034 junction in South Cave and North Cave which is slowing things down.  

    Flooding is causing problems on the A1035 Grange Way in both directions in Beverley between the A164 Driffield Road junction and the A1035 Hull Bridge Road junction. The road is described as "just passable".
