  3. Watch: Weather- snow warning issued for East Yorkshire overnight

    Outbreaks of rain will turn wintry overnight with the risk of a more prolonged spell of snowfall late in the night and during Wednesday morning.

    This will give a covering of snow with 1-4 cm possible in places up to 5-10 cm on higher ground.

    Please be aware of some difficult driving conditions and the potential for travel disruption into Wednesday morning rush hour.

    There remains some uncertainty as to where the greatest snowfall will occur.  

  4. Major bus route in Hull to close for four months for road repairs

    Just when you thought Hull city centre couldn't take any more diggers and orange barriers more are coming. And this time a major road is closing for four months.

    From Sunday Carr Lane, where Primark is, will undergo construction work from Telephone House to the bus shelters at Princes Quay.

    Buses to West Hull will now depart from Anne Street, where the old "Heaven And Hell" nightclub is.

  5. Hull flasher targets city schoolgirls

    Police are looking for a man in Hull who exposed himself to two 13-year-old girls on their way to school at around 08:30 this morning.

    The girls were walking on Sandford Close when they were approached by a man riding a blue mountain bike who later headed towards Northcott school.

    He's described as white, with light brown or ginger stubble and was wearing a black hoody with the words 'TAP OUT' written on the front. 

    Police are appealing for witnesses. 

  6. Body of man found in Humber

    The body of a man's been found in the River Humber.

    Police say they were called at just before 21:20 last night to the river close to Lancelot Court in Hull (pictured).

    The man's been formally identified, but not named, as a 28-year-old who's been missing since falling into Hull Marina in the early hours of Thursday, 4 February.

    His death isn't being treated as suspicious.

  7. Almost all East Riding pupils have got into secondary school of their choice

    Thousands of parents have found out today whether their child got a place at the secondary school of their choice. 

    In East Yorkshire 96 percent of pupils have been given their first choice secondary school.

    In most local authorities, parents are allowed to express a preference for three schools, but they are not guaranteed a place at their choices.  

  8. No bail for two East Yorkshire men jailed in India

    Two East Yorkshire men jailed in India on firearms charges have been denied bail. 

    Paul Towers of Pocklington and Ray Tindall of Hull were sentenced in January.

    They'll continue their appeal against their convictions. 

    They were arrested more than two years ago, while working on an anti-piracy ship.

  9. Sport: Could it be a win for North Ferriby tonight?

    North Ferriby United will be looking to end a run of five league games without a win tonight in National League North. 

    The Villagers are away at Stalybridge Celtic looking to close an eight point gap on leaders Solihull Moors.

  10. Sport: Hull City could drop out of automatic promotion places tonight

    Hull City will drop out of the automatic promotion places if Middlesbrough don't lose at Blackburn tonight.

    The Tigers can go back top of the table tomorrow though when they go to Birmingham. 

    Although Leicester City can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points this evening by beating West Brom, their manager Claudio Ranieri still thinks Spurs are the favourites for the title.

  11. East Yorkshire men detained in India on firearms charges denied bail

    Two East Yorkshire men who are among a group detained in India on firearms charges have been denied bail and the appeal process against their convictions continues.

    Paul Towers, from Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire and Ray Tindall from Hull were among a group of men who worked on an anti-piracy ship and were arrested in October 2013. 

    They were jailed for five years at a court hearing in January. 

    An appeal was lodged, but a judge in Chennai has ruled the men will not be released on bail in the meantime. 

  12. Police scour area after armed robbery at Hull Bank

    An investigation is under way into an armed robbery at HSBC bank in Hull this morning. 

    Three men threatened staff at the branch on Holderness Road before stealing money and running off.

    No one was injured. 

    Officers are in the area searching for those involved.

  13. Hull KR player Adam Walker in court on child sex offences

    Hull KR prop forward Adam Walker has appeared in court charged with child sex offences

    Mr Walker (pictured on the right) faces two counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child.

    The 24-year-old joined the Super League team in 2012. 

    No formal plea was entered. 

    The trial is expected to take place in September. The club say Mr Walker is available for selection.

  14. Lunchtime weather: A cloudy but dry afternoon

    Will Poaching will remain in charge of Hull KR for Friday's visit to Super League leaders Widnes. 

    He was put in charge following the standing down of Chris Chester, who's formally severed all ties with the club today.

  17. Police investigate reports of bank robbery

    An investigation's under way into reports of a robbery at a bank in Hull this morning. 

    Officers were called to the HSBC branch on Holderness Road (pictured) just after 10:30. 

    They're now carrying out inquiries in the area.

  18. Online dating app fraud on the increase

    Humberside Police say more people are becoming victims of fraud through online dating. 

    They're running a campaign with "Get Safe Online" to raise the issue.

  19. And its goodbye from him

    Its the end of an era for a Hull company that's been in business since 1970.

    Forty-six years after starting his Sea-Land Floorings business the owner Mike Jackson is calling it a day.

    He's finally retiring at the age of 72 after years of installing everything from decking on trawlers and minesweepers to specialist flooring in many of the region's schools and hospitals.
