  11. Chip shop refunds customers after anonymous donation

    A fish and chip shop has said it will refund its Good Friday customers after an anonymous person paid for everybody's meal.

    Bertie's Fish and Chips in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, said it would begin refunding customers next week.

  12. Giant Easter bunny installed on front lawn

    Giant Easter Bunny

    A giant inflatable Easter bunny has been installed on the front lawn of a block of flats in Bournemouth.

    Fiona McArthur installed the massive decoration in Belle Vue Road, Southbourne, after events she was organising as part of her job were cancelled due to the coronavirus lockdown.

    The 47 year old said she wanted to "put a smile on people's faces".

    "It helps us realise that we might all be locked up but we are still here and part of a big community that needs to look out for each other," she added.

  14. Water company offers rebate to front-line NHS staff

    Paramedic

    Wessex Water is offering key NHS workers a rebate of up to £50 to cover the additional costs of having to wash their uniforms at home.

    To be eligible, customers have to:

    • receive their water supply from Wessex Water
    • be on a water meter, and
    • be a front-line NHS worker who is required to wash the uniform given to them by their employer

    Typical NHS roles include nurses, doctors and paramedics, and other occupations similar to those listed on the HM Revenue & Customs tax relief for uniforms website page.

    Wessex Water has 2.8m customers across the South West including Bristol, most of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Hampshire.
