  3. Berinsfield to become Garden Village

    Bethan Nimmo

    Political reporter, BBC Radio Oxford

The government has announced Berinsfield will become a Garden Village - with hopes of creating up to 2,300 new homes.

The ambition is for it to be a "transformational" project that will will see £150,000 invested in the area.

A garden village was already announced for near Eynsham in 2017. The idea then was to create distinct new communities, not just extend existing ones.

But it's unclear whether Berinsfield Garden Village will be a separate place, or an extension to the existing village.

Members of the public went to the woman’s aid and called for help. She did not require medical treatment.
