  2. No shops in Reading selling knives to youngsters, TVP reports

As more than a thousand youngsters were hospitalised with knife wounds in England last year, police tested local business in Reading and was pleased to announce no shop was found selling knives to under 18s.

Thames Valley Police put to test local businesses after it was recently reported the number of people between the age of 10 and 19 admitted to hospital with knife-related injuries had more than doubled in the past five years.

The staggering figures prompted calls for authorities to crack down on high-street businesses selling knives to young people.

  3. Domestic violence campaign to combat abusive relationships

A campaign to raise awareness of signs of coercive relationships has been launched by Thames Valley Police (TVP) amid an increasing number of cases reported to the force.

Hundreds of women reported being victims of abusive relationships, 45 percent of whom said they had been in one for more than 10 years.

The TVP survey found half of the total were abused under the age of 25.

Coercive control became a crime in 2015 - it's when people degrade, threaten or closely monitor their partners.

'Know This Isn't Love' campaign was launched on Tuesday and aims to signpost support for victims.
