We've all been there - a football in the face during a kickabout with your niece, or a whack on the ankle by your son's out-of-control scooter.

So it's good to know we mere mortals aren't the only ones to suffer at the hands of our beloved offspring.

Oxford music star Gaz Coombes revealed on Tuesday he has had to cancel several tour dates after his daughter broke his leg.

The former Supergrass singer said he got "Bruce Lee'd" by his 15-year-old while "larking around".

  4. New team set up to promote healthier lives

Horton General Hospital is set to get a new team dedicated to helping people in North Oxfordshire live healthier lives.

The "Here for Health" team will offer advice on all aspects of improving health such as giving up smoking, controlling alcohol intake, becoming more active, and eating healthier.

The scheme mirrors a successful one already running at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where between August 2014 and October 2018, the team there spoke to more than 10,000 people about improving their health.

The team will be available Monday to Thursday in the outpatient department at the Banbury hospital from 26 November.

  8. Beatles memorabilia to go under the hammer

A collection of signed Beatles memorabilia amassed by the Fab Four's favourite air stewardess has emerged for sale, with an estimate over £35,000.

Olga Fogwill, who worked at London Airport in the 1960s, met the band at the height of their fame as they were flying to Hamburg in Germany.

She came to their aid when John, Paul, George and Ringo, had all forgotten their passports.

But with air travel vastly different from today, she allowed them to board the British Eagle flight without the official documents. Ms Fogwill then arranged for the passports to be sent to Germany on the next flight, allowing the band to take off as scheduled.

The items, including a signed birthday card and an autographed 'Help' programme, and will go to go under on Tuesday at SAS Auctions of Thatcham, Berkshire.
