Plans to bring in a cap on the number of dogs people can walk in Gosport have been getting a mixed response on social media.
Gosport Borough Council is planning to introduce a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) to limit people to four dogs, instead of the current six.
Commenting on Facebook Dennis Brown said: "Who is to tell anyone that they can only have four dogs?
"This has no legs as it goes too far to interfere with people's rights to choices."Copyright: BBC
While Jenny Brown posted: "I'm pleased this has come into focus. I've had so many problems when encountering larger groups of dogs."
It would be imposed on both individual and professional dog walkers giving the authority the power to issue a £100 fine.
If it is approved the change would come into force on 1 May. A decision is expected next week.
Police have released images of model cars and trains stolen in a burglary in Bournemouth.

The car boot sale in Bursledon is set to close to make way for up to 182 new homes.
Eastleigh Borough Council said the privately-owned site off Hamble Lane had been sold with outline planning granted in November 2015.

A man has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend at their shared home.
James D'Arcy will be sentenced tomorrow for killing Hayley Dean at their bedsit flat in Bournemouth.

Hayley, 38, died after D'Arcy hit her over the head with a sledgehammer. He admitted to police "I smashed her head in".
Winchester Crown Court heard D'Arcy initially pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and denied murder.
He said he could not remember the attack as he was heavily under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident in September last year.
Police have been called to Shirley high street in Southampton after reports of a man carrying a weapon, thought to be a knife.
A spokesperson said they were alerted at 12:59 and officers are on the scene.

A man was stabbed to death after he stormed into a flat with a sawn-off shotgun to rob three drug dealers, an inquest has heard.

The three dealers were held over his death but never charged with murder.
