  1. Sculptor on Queen Mother Poundbury statue

    The 9ft 6in (3m) bronze statue of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, by sculptor Philip Jackson stands in the square of the Poundbury urban development on the edge of Dorchester. 

    The statue, depicting the Queen Mother aged 51, is a second casting of one which stands in The Mall in London.

    He spoke to BBC Radio Solent's Louisa Hannan.

    The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have completed their official duties and have left Poundbury in the royal car.

    The Prince of Wales and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall are staying in the town for a private lunch.

    Her Majesty has unveiled the statue of her mother and is now accepting flowers from local children and greeting the crowds.

    The royal party is in the process of touring Poundbury square.

    The Queen is visiting the local Waitrose and is attending a private reception in Jubilee Hall.

    They will continue to the Royal Pavilion where they will meet architects involved in the design of the statue of the Queen Mother.

    The party will proceed to the Duchess of Cornwall Inn where they will meet representatives from the construction team before moving on to the statue where the Prince of Wales will give a speech before the unveiling.

    The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh arrived at Dorchester South station earlier, ahead the visit to Poundbury, Prince Charles's urban development on the edge of Dorchester.
