Owner of dead 'mistaken identity' cat sought

A grieving cat owner has spoken of her shock after the cat she believed had been killed in a road accident strolled into her kitchen.

Annie Barter, from Halstead in Essex, and her mother had just buried what they thought was her beloved cat Beebs in the garden.

She said the animal she'd buried was the same age, breed and colour - and had the same little scar on his nose as her oblivious tom.

Ms Barter is now appealing for help in finding the bereaved owner, as the exhumed remains are being held at the Forge veterinary practice in Halstead.

A nurse in charge of a ward where a pregnant woman died from sepsis had not read an education bundle about the infection, an inquest has heard.

Reeta Saidha, 38, died on 23 December at Basildon Hospital after contracting sepsis when her waters broke at 15 weeks pregnant.

Sharon Golland, the nurse in charge of Elsdon Ward on 21 December, told Chelmsford Coroner's Court she "was aware there was paperwork for a sepsis bundle" but she had not read it.
