  14. Rams and Forest looking to kickstart play-off push

    Derby County and Nottingham Forest will be looking to set up a possible late play-off push with wins in the Championship this evening.

    The Rams visit Blackburn Rovers while Forest will travel up the M1 to take on Sheffield Wednesday.

    Elsewhere, in the National League North, Alfreton Town welcome Hereford to North Street.

    All three games kick off at 19:45.

  15. Priest honoured for work promoting peace

    A retired priest has received an award from the Archbishop of Canterbury for promoting peace between Muslims and Christians.

    The Reverend Graham Burton, from Hyson Green, was given the award for his work for 12 years in Pakistan and then in Nottingham for 25 years.

    Mr Burton said: "It was a very special day for me.

    "Three of my family members came including my wife Gillian who has shared with me these last 40 years and in my eyes shares this award.

    "We are agreed that this award should be dedicated to the Pakistani Christian community, both in Pakistan and in the UK."

    He was one of 27 people who received a Lambeth Award, which honour people who have made a contribution to the Church of England and wider society.

  16. Ferret found on major city roundabout

    It sounds like this ferret had a lucky escape after it was spotted running around near a major roundabout in Nottingham city centre.

    A member of staff at Byron House, where the Central Police Station is based, saw the animal on the roundabout where Maid Marian Way meets Derby Road and Upper Parliament Street.

    Luckily, it doesn't seem to be injured and the RSPCA has been called to collect it.
