Your views: Should we move Nightingale statue?

Gavin Bevis

BBC Local Live

Calls to move Derby's Florence Nightingale statue from its current position in London Road haven't been universally welcomed.

On our Facebook page, Sam Pearch posted: "Leave it where it is, she was part of the London road hospital not the current one.

"Have her cleaned and the area tidied up and then fenced off to protect her, once the land is built on she will be a memory for the DRI standing proud for all to view."

Sneaky tactics of illegal tobacco traders

Nisha Chopra

BBC Inside Out reporter

We were given permission to go out with trading standards officers and see their work dealing with illegal tobacco sellers.

The first shop we went to, their sniffer dog went straight to a fridge hidden in a back room and within minutes his handler found stacks of illegal fags hidden in the top compartment.

BBC

In another shop, a van was used as a decoy to hide a locker which contained bags of illegal tobacco.

It's amazing just how crafty they were in hiding their product. In some shops we saw the remains of electro magnets where cigarettes have been stored under the floor and behind walls, which are accessed by remote control.

You can watch my full report on BBC Inside Out East Midlands at 19:30 on BBC One or on iPlayer after.
