  6. Vandals wanted after graffiti wreckage

    Police are trying to find the people responsible for spraying graffiti on the walls of Masson Mill's car park in Matlock Bath. 

    It's thought to have happened sometime between 18:30 on Saturday and 07:30 the next morning.

  7. Clough hopes to have Beavon back

    Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough hopes to have Stuart Beavon back for Saturday's game with Newcastle. 

    The striker, who's yet to score a league goal this season, has missed the last four games with a dead leg but could return in time to face the high-flying magpies.

    Clough will continue to be without defender Ben Turner, who's serving the second of a two-game ban.

    Derby County continue their winning ways by beating QPR 1-0 to go fifth in the Championship table.

    It was Tom Ince that broke the deadlock in the 86th minute, which saw Derby take home all three points.

    Ince said the side's current form is helping to spur the team on.

  10. Burton MP: 'We can easily win the argument'

    MP for Burton Andrew Griffiths said he's confident that the A&E department at Queen's Hospital won't be downgraded.

    "The case for maintaining an A&E at Queen's Hospital in Burton is so strong is and compelling that we can easily win the argument and ensure that A&E provision remains at Burton."

  12. Teenagers arrested over Halloween trouble

    More than 10 teenagers have been arrested this week after an investigation into complaints of assaults, damage and anti-social behaviour in Allestree on Halloween. 

    The teenagers, aged 15 to 19, have all been released on bail while enquiries continue. 

    Insp Nick Daines, said the alleged behaviour went "some way beyond youthful high-jinks" and shouldn't be tolerated.

  13. Burton's A&E could face cuts

    Burton's accident and emergency department could be downgraded after Staffordshire health chiefs announced a review of services. 

    Over the next five years £524m needs to be saved and one of the units at either Stoke, Stafford or Burton could be affected.

  15. Owl emergency in Ilkeston

    The fire service rushed out to a house in Ilkeston save an owl. 

    They were called in to help free the bird which had become caught on a TV ariel on Glebe Crescent.


    The unfortunate is now in safe hands in the care of the RSPCA.
