Council taking plunge on new pool

Euan Duncan

BBC Local Live

Good news at last for swimmers in Derby... city council leader Ranjit Banwait says the authority's now in a position to look at building a new swimming pool for the city.

But Mr Banwait says because of cuts in other areas and low interest rates it may now be able to build a new swimming venue.

I wonder if Adam Peaty's Olympic success helped focus minds?
