Rolls-Royce: Union reaction

Tony Tinley, from the Unite union, said workers had been told about 300 jobs would be lost at Rolls-Royce in Derby.

This includes 190 with the closure of its Precision Machining Facility, which produces turbine blades, and more than 100 from other parts of its operation in the city.

Two men are arrested in connection with an incident that saw armed police called to reports of gunshots in Branston Road, Burton.

Snow expected overnight

The Met Office has issued

a yellow warning of snow and ice in Derbyshire from 00:10 to 10:00 tomorrow. It says hilly areas could see heavy snow.

Wintry conditions have been causing traffic problems in parts the Peak District today.
