We've now finished posting news and other useful information about Cumbria for today, and this week.
Here's a reminder of some of today's developments:
- There was a rising spate of complaints in Kendal, after a key bridge over the River Kent was once again undermined by its swollen waters after heavy rain, and closed to all traffic for at least a week
- And while we're on the subject, Pooley Bridge braced itself for the start of work on the replacement to the three arches over the River Eamont that gave the Lake District village its name, but were swept away by Storm Desmond
- And Archie Workman, from south Cumbria, who made such a name for his interest in all things to do with drains and their ironwork that he now gives talks on the subject, pondered his response to an inquiry...
