  8. Rescue service teams up with building society

    The Severn Area Rescue Association will be getting support from the Coventry Building Society throughout 2017, it's revealed.

    The group, a rescue service on land and water in and around the Severn Estuary, announced on social media that the building society's Chepstow branch has set up a fundraising display.

  12. City honours Sky Blue legend Jimmy Hill

    A major road in Coventry has been renamed Jimmy Hill Way in honour of the man who led the Sky Blues to success, and changed the face of football.

    Unveilling ceremony

    The road signs have now been officially unveiled to rename a stretch of the A444 going through the city, formerly known as Phoenix Way. 

    The road goes past the former home of the Sky Blues at Highfield Road and their new home at the Ricoh Arena where Jimmy Hill's statue stands.

  13. Boss of mouldy pizza delivery firm handed suspended sentence

    The owner of a takeaway in Rugby which delivered a mouldy pizza to a customer has been handed a six-month suspended sentence by magistrates in Nuneaton. 

    Hygiene breaches in takeaway kitchen

    Food inspectors found dead insects in food packages, dirty door seals on freezers and grease-covered grills when they visited the Rugby Grill House on Church Street last August. 

    On Tuesday, Jaskaran Singh Randhawa, 39, admitted 10 charges breaching food hygiene regulations and was told to pay costs totalling more than £4,700.
