  1. Charity sees 'massive influx' of puppy farm dogs

    Puppy farm dog

    A Somerset rescue centre says it's been inundated with dogs from puppy farms.

    St Giles in Taunton is taking in up to 42 a week.

    The owner believes it could be a knee-jerk reaction to a proposed new law that would require all breeders to be licensed and regulated.

    Many of the rescues are in poor condition and need medical help.

  2. British Bobsleigh at risk of losing essential funding

    The board of the Bath-based governing body of British Bobsleigh, the BBSA, has been directed to step down from their positions.

    While Skeleton enjoyed a good winter games, with medals for Laura Deas and Lizzy Yarnold, it wasn't the same for their bobsleigh counterparts.

    UK Sport has told the crisis-hit governing body of British Bobsleigh and Skeleton that its entire board must stand down and re-apply for their jobs as a condition of £7m of investment to prepare for the next Winter Olympics, the BBC understands.

    BBC Sport's Editor Dan Roan told BBC Wiltshire's Ben Prater it's a precarious position.

  3. Rec return for Matt Banahan - and another West derby

    Tonight's West Country derby will see Bath entertaining Gloucester at the Rec.

    It will be a big day for Matt Banahan, who spent 12 years at Bath before joining Gloucester this summer.

    Steve OjoMoh, who's also played for both clubs, says Banahan will do things his own way.

  5. Terry Waite to speak at Gloucester History Festival

    Terry Waite

    Humanitarian and author, Terry Waite, will appear at the Gloucester History Festival this Sunday.

    He was kidnapped in 1987 after being sent to Lebanon to negotiate the release of several Western hostages.

    Terry was held captive, mostly in solitary confinement, for 1,763 days - before being released on the 18th of November 1991.

  6. Giant knitting needles make Guinness World Record book

    They are 14 feet in length, six inches in diameter and officially the biggest knitting needles in the world. Betsy Bond created them at Wiltshire College and now they've found their way into the 2019 edition of the Guinness World Records book.
