  9. Hollywood movie about a Somerset sailor who vanished on a round-the-world race

    A new film starring Colin Firth opens in cinemas today. It tells the tale of a yachtsman from Bridgwater who sensationally disappeared 50 years ago.

    Donald Crowhurst was on course to win the first round-the-world yacht race when his boat was found abandoned.

    His logs later revealed that he'd falsified the entries and never left the Atlantic Ocean.

    Alice Bouverie has been learning about his story.

  10. Rare book found during church restoration

    A rare book by one of the founders of modern Methodism has been found in the Gloucester church where he preached his first sermon.

    St Mary de Crypt is undergoing a £2m restoration project and is famous as the site where George Whitefield was educated and preached.

    He gave his first sermon there in 1736 and a book of his was discovered hidden in a bag destined for the bin.

  11. Dave Lees to be Bristol Airport's new CEO

    Dave Lees has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Bristol Airport.

    Mr Lees is currently Managing Director of Southampton Airport and he will be taking up his new role on 1 August.

    His appointment follows the departure of Robert Sinclair in October 2017.

    On his new role, Dave Lees said: "This is an exciting opportunity, and I am looking forward to working with the team at Bristol to build on the Airport's success and ambitions for the future."
