Avon and Somerset Police say they now have two active investigations into cases of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
It's illegal here - but it's common in many African countries and is a particular concern in areas of Bristol where many Somali and Sudanese women live.
Earlier a leading FGM charity, Forward, held a meeting in Bristol to share ideas on how perceptions of it can be changed.
They also educated parents about the implications of taking their daughters abroad to have FGM carried out.

Avon and Somerset Police have released CCTV footage of Lewis Ball, who has been missing since 5 February.
The 26-year-old failed to return home from a night out at the Thekla nightclub on The Grove, Bristol.
Officers say the footage shows Mr Ball was still in the area about 20 minutes after he left the nightclub.
The evacuation followed what police said were two suspicious phone calls and saw the premises closed for several hours while officers and a dog carried out searches. Nothing of concern was found.
DS Mike Standing said: "These calls were taken very seriously and caused a great deal of disruption and concern for the public and the businesses in Solstice Park.
"We appreciated the patience and understanding of staff and customers yesterday during the safety evacuation and searches.
"Enquiries locally have quickly identified two suspects and we are satisfied that there is no risk to the public."
