A cold weather alert has been issued for the West Midlands, warning of a prolonged period of low temperatures starting tomorrow until 18:00 on Tuesday 9 January.
The Met Office said colder conditions would spread south across much of the country during Saturday, with widespread frosts expected during Sunday.

BBC's Ambulance series to return to West Midlands
The BBC's 'Ambulance' programme is going to follow West Midlands Ambulance Service again for its new series.
The last series, which showed what the job is like for ambulance crews and call centre staff, attracted more than four million viewers a week.
Camera crews have already started filming and were out with the ambulances all through December - one of the busiest months of the year.
It is expected to broadcast later this year.
