    West Bromwich Albion are celebrating their first home league win over Manchester United in 32 years, thanks to a goal from their Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon.

    Signed for £12m in the summer from Russian club Zenit St Petersburg, the 26-year-old initially struggled in the Black Country.

    But he’s starting to make a big impact in the Premier League and Baggies fans love him, adapting a 1963 hit single in his honour.

    Thousands of dogs and their owners will descend on Birmingham this week when Crufts - the world's largest dog show - kicks off at the NEC on Thursday. 

    The dogs are preened to perfection, but what does it take to get a dog looking "best in show"? 

    Earlier today I went to meet Lakhi Thindal who's the only groomer in the West Midlands to hold the title of International Certified Master Groomer - a globally recognised qualification.

  7. Fundraiser Stephen Sutton's mother in charity climb

    The mother of Staffordshire's Stephen Sutton, who raised millions of pounds for the Teenager Cancer Trust before his death, is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to continue her son's legacy.

    Jane Sutton said October's challenge would raise funds for the same trust that supported Stephen with his illness.

    The 19-year-old, from Burntwood, Staffordshire, wrote a "bucket list" of things he wanted to do before he died.

    More than £5.5m was donated after his campaign went viral.

  8. Watch: Disgraced nurse filmed at 'Botox party'

    A disgraced nurse who describes himself as "Jonny Botox" has been secretly filmed at a Wolverhampton "Botox party" offering to inject an undercover BBC reporter.

    Jonathan Henk, from Bromsgrove, injected three women before offering to give a reporter as much Botox as she wanted.

    He later admitted he knew what he was doing was wrong. Watch what happened.

  11. Man admits murdering his wife

    A man has pleaded guilty to murdering his wife.

    Jacqueline Abbott, 54, was found with head injuries at a house in Lodge Crescent in Netherton, Dudley, in December last year.

    Her husband, Paul Abbott, was subsequently arrested and admitted her murder when he appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier today.

    The 56-year-old was remanded in custody to reappear at the same court next month.

  12. Free dog microchipping before law introduced

    Did you know that all dogs must be microchipped by 6 April?

    The devices will be coded with owners' details and those who do not comply could face fines of up to £500.  

    Later this week, Birmingham City Council is offering a free service in Garretts Green and Sutton Coldfield.

    You can also search for your nearest free microchipping session via the Dogs Trust website.

  13. Photo: Man accused of attempting to murder his pregnant partner

    A 41-year-old man from Sutton Coldfield has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder his heavily pregnant partner in a street stabbing.

    Babur Karamat Raja (pictured left) is charged with the attempted murders of Natalie Queiroz (pictured right) and her unborn baby, who has been delivered by caesarean section.

    Mr Raja is also accused of the attempted murder of passerby John Mitchell.
