    Harry Garthwaite has been treated to his very own street party as family and neighbours celebrated his 100th birthday.

    A RAF pilot during the war, he moved to Gosforth in Newcastle with his wife Maisie, 64 years ago.

    Now a widower, his neighbours and family were determined to make sure he had a very special birthday, which included his son and grandson travelling from Birmingham, and receiving a card from the Queen.
