  2. Madonna promises 'performance art, comedy and music' for one-off show

    Madonna

Madonna is going to take part in a one-off show as she heads to Australia for the next leg of her Rebel Heart tour.

The Tears of a Clown show - tickets for which will be given to winners of a competition - will take place on 10 March at Melbourne's Forum Theatre and has been billed as a mixture of music, art and comedy.

In a statement on her website, Madonna said: "I wanted to do something special for Australia because you have been so patient and waited so long - the 'Tears of a Clown' show will make its debut on March 10.

"Performance art, comedy, story telling and music of course! Especially for you my Rebel Heart fans Down Under."

She posted a short clip on Twitter too, showing herself, well, clowning around on stage.

But how will the comedy element work? Well, we don't know what it's going to involve yet.

We do know that Madonna has previously admitted to being a "closet comedian", making her stand-up comedy debut last year on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

In the short routine, she poked fun at herself - and her habit of dating younger men. You can watch it below.

  3. Holographic stage epic to premiere in London

    Tim Masters

    Arts and Entertainment correspondent

Scene from Symphony for a Lost Generation

How do you put 250 actors and dancers on stage alongside a full choir and a symphony orchestra?

One way is to make them all holograms.

That's what South African-born composer and director Adam Donen has done for his epic Symphony to a Lost Generation.

Described as “the world’s first fully holographic production”, it fuses classical music, dance, drama and archival film to depict the human tragedy of the First World War.

The show has its world premiere at LSO St Lukes in east London on 28 May.

  4. Keanu Reeves shooting practice goes viral

Its odd which videos go viral isn't it?

A short video of Keanu Reeves at a shooting range has had more than 750,000 views on YouTube.

It reminds us a little bit of the first scene in Point Break, but without the dramatic rain.

Apparently Keanu's been training for his upcoming role in the movie John Wick: Chapter Two, which is due out in 2017.

Officer Paul Rogerson of the Pleasant Grove Police Department in Utah (right) with his wife, left, and singer Gladys Knight, centre

When Utah police officer Paul Rogerson pulled over a speeding car, he ended up with an unexpected birthday surprise - being serenaded by Gladys Knight.

The Midnight Train to Georgia singer was a passenger in the car.

When the driver said she was with Knight, Officer Rogerson said he and his wife - who was in the car with him - were big fans.

Gladys got out of the car to sing Happy Birthday and even posed for a photograph with the couple.

The officer let the driver go with a warning - with Pleasant Grove Police Captain Mike Roberts saying this would have happened even if the music star had not been in the car.

The Grammy Award-winning singer was in Utah for a choir rehearsal.

  6. I'm in awe of Louisa Durrell, says Keeley Hawes

    Tim Masters

    Arts and Entertainment correspondent

Pictured:CALLUM WOODHOUSE as Leslie Durrell, KEELY HAWES as Louisa Durrell, MILO PARKER as Gerry Durrell,DAISY WATERSTONE as Margo Durrell and JOSH O'CONNOR as Larry Durrell

Actress Keeley Hawes has been speaking about her starring role in ITV’s forthcoming drama The Durrells.

Based upon Gerald Durrell’s trilogy of Corfu memoirs - including My Family and Other Animals - the six-part series will be shown next month.

Hawes plays Louisa Durrell, a widow with four children in 1930s Bournemouth, who decides to uproot and move her family to the sun-drenched Greek island.

Speaking at a preview screening of the first episode on Friday, Hawes said:

Quote Message: I often think what a massive undertaking it actually was for Louisa. Everything about what she did is quite extraordinary, particularly being a mother on her own in the 1930s. There was no EasyJet, nothing to make her life any smoother going into this huge journey and taking four children and a dog and all their worldly possessions across the world. It’s a massive undertaking and so brave and I’m in awe that she did that.

Asked about the mild swearing that appears in the series, written by Men Behaving Badly's Simon Nye, Hawes said it meant the drama wouldn't appear "saccharine".

Quote Message: It’s not something that would make me turn over if my children were watching.
  7. Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall marry in London

Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall in London on 4 March 2016

Well, it's certainly a nice sunny day for a wedding in central London - which is where media mogul Rupert Murdoch and actress-model Jerry Hall have just been married.

The ceremony took place at Spencer House, just off Green Park.

Murdoch, 84, whose News UK company publishes The Times and The Sun, and 59-year-old Hall will celebrate their marriage at St Bride's Church, Fleet Street, tomorrow.

It's the fourth marriage for Murdoch and the first for Hall, who has four children with Mick Jagger.

They posed for photographers outside Spencer House, and a Murdoch spokeswoman later confirmed the pair had married.

  8. Greedo wouldn't have shot first, says Jabba in script leak

    Star Wars: The Force Awakens

When George Lucas released remastered versions of the original Star Wars trilogy back in 1997, fans were outraged over a key scene change.

The new version of Episode IV suggested bounty hunter Greedo had fired at a cornered Han Solo in the bar in Mos Eisley before Solo delivered his own coup de grace and killed him.

But in the original it was clear that Han fired the first and only shot.

Apparently Lucas didn't like it because it made Han - played again by Harrison Ford in The Force Awakens (above) - look "like a cold-blooded killer".

The incident sparked the phrase "Han shot first" and now, in a tweet written by Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew, it seems that even baddie Jabba the Hut - who sent Greedo on his mission to capture Han - insists that his man would not have fired the first shot.

Speaking at a news conference, Waters said:

Quote Message: It had been my experience that experiments in collaboration between the worlds of rock and roll and the worlds of symphonic music were generally disastrous and should be embarked upon with extreme trepidation. But they were extremely persuasive.

The 1979 album chronicles the life of a fictional rock star named Pink who suffers a complete psychological breakdown.

"Chris did, but my own sense of self is like, ‘I didn’t quite nail it.'"

Heath Ledger won a posthumous Oscar for The Joker

Bale added that Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight also made him question his own performance.

He said: "Heath turned up, and just kind of completely ruined all my plans,.

"Because I went, 'He’s so much more interesting than me and what I’m doing.'"

Ledger, who died aged 28 in 2008, prior to the film's release, won an Oscar for his role.

    Rula Lenska

Former EastEnders actress Rula Lenska has been banned from driving for 16 months after admitting drink driving.

Wimbledon Magistrates' Court heard she crashed her car, with her three-year-old grandson in the back seat, after having a drink of vodka with Polish builders earlier that day to toast the completion of a fence at her home.

She clipped a parked car, flipping her Ford Kia on its side.

The court heard she was distracted by a warning light on her dashboard and feels genuine remorse over what happened.

Seema Parikh, representing Lenska, said the actress had felt "quite normal" when she was asked to take the toddler home and has been riddled with guilt since the incident.

She was found to have 47 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of her breath - the legal limit is 35 micrograms.

No one was injured in the accident. Lenska, who starred in Celebrity Big Brother, was also fined £410.

    Mark Savage

    Music reporter

    All Saints in 2006

Strap on your combat trousers, here's the new video by re-reformed girlband All Saints.

One Strike, which premiered on Radio 2 last week, was written by Shaznay Lewis after her band-mate Nicole Appleton went through a bitter divorce from Oasis star Liam Gallagher.

“The lyrics for One Strike came from somewhere very real," she said. "Nic was going through a lot of things at that time. That was at the forefront of my mind because it was the heaviest thing going on."

The first few times I heard it in my car, I couldn't stop crying” added Nicole's older sister Natalie.

  20. Judge orders Bobbi Kristina Brown post-mortem report to be unsealed

    Bobbi Kristina Brown

The post-mortem report into the death of singer Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina is to be made public after a judge in Atlanta ordered it to be unsealed.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Henry Newkirk granted a motion filed by media organizations who argued a sealing order granted in September was unconstitutional because there was no opportunity for a public hearing.

The 22-year-old daughter of Whitney - who died in 2012 - and former husband Bobby Brown was found face-down in her bathtub in January last year.

She could not be revived and died in hospital in July.
