Your pictures: Cleaning
Each week, we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week it is "cleaning".
Sunil Pareek: "This is not a routine shaving, rather a preparation for a Hindu ritual for which men have to shave their heads along with their beards."
Pete Dadds: "Keeping the city clean, Manhattan, New York, 1991."
Neil Gabriel: "I was cycling past this pyramid-shaped office block on Hornbeam Park, in Harrogate, [Yorkshire,] and saw the window cleaners at work. The sky in front was cloudy but breaking up behind. I had no camera equipment so took out my phone and snapped away. Within seconds, the clouds had changed and the workmen were at the bottom of the pyramid."
Safwa Alsaden: "Cleaners at the Atomium, taken during a holiday in Brussels."
Muge Karatas: "A few of my friends threw themselves into my pool during a garden party I had."
Jason Shrubb: "Cleaning the smoke-box of a locomotive after a day's steaming at the Mid Hants railway near Winchester."
Derek Logan: "Taken a couple of weeks ago in Kuala Lumpur. Waiting for the Monorail at Chow Kit Station, I asked her for permission and said, 'Thanks for the cleanliness.'"
Sajini Badrinarayan: "This Thanksgiving weekend, we had a fair share of autumn cleaning to do."
Graham Burdekin: "A cow cleans her newly born calf."
"A farmer was cleaning his land to plant some grains," says Jilla Nithur. The next theme is "plinths", and the deadline for your entries is 5 December.
