Your pictures: Wilderness
Each week, we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week, it is "Wilderness".
Emily Cross: "This image was shot over mountainous hills in the Otago region of New Zealand. The sun was setting, casting a pink hue over the surrounding mountains and forests, with a bright and bold moon taking the spotlight as it rose over the hills. A peaceful setting inviting you into the wilderness of mother nature."
Krystyna Okrasa: "This is one of the pictures I took during an incredible hike to The Wave, Arizona. One has to win a lottery ticket to get the hiking permit there. My husband, Maks, won it on April Fools' Day! I couldn't believe it, but it was true. We both felt like winners the day we got to The Wave, as it was a picture perfect day. At the same time, we felt like fools hiking in the middle of a summer in Arizona. The hike in the desert was gruelling, but it was definitely worth it."
Mike Meredith: "I took this at the Antarctic Peninsula, whilst deploying instruments to measure oceanic climate change."
Wolfgang Eckleben: "Walking through the wilderness in Sossusvlei, Namibia. This is a beautiful oasis when the rains come, but for most of the year it looks like this."
Bronwyn Jones: "Here is my dog Jolie in the afternoon light admiring the wilderness of the bush near Derby in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Boab trees and anthills are in the distance. A beautiful cool part of the day away from the heat."
Debbie Williams: "One of the many beautiful vistas experienced on our trip along the Canadian Rockies wilderness in 2015."
Emily Hunt: "Stags emerge at sunset in January 2017. I took this in Wollaton Hall Park, Nottingham. Rutting season calls for photo opportunities."
Nick Colston: "The stunningly vibrant Morning Glory Pool hot spring in Yellowstone National Park, USA."
This image by Brian Davis was taken at Lake Langbathsee, Austria.
