Your pictures: Bright colours
Readers' photographs on the theme of bright colours
Each week, we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week it is "bright colours", and we begin with a picture by Lee Cooper.
Paula Watts: "Some new shiny spoons and gift wrap. The result of looking for some colour on a grey day."
Will Melling: "Taken during a lunchtime walk in London Fields. I didn't see the yellow bag at the time, just the dog, so the match of colours was luck really."
Jae-Kyung Kim: "Last year, I made a needlepoint bag using 30 different colours of Medici wool yarn, and this is what came out of that. I worked with four strands at a time, allowing me to mix and shade colours, shown at the triangular corner. The mosaic part was made by lining up the 30 colours and following the order back and forth, snaking around to the end."
Leah Wilson: "I just love the contrasting bright blue and yellow colours, with the shadow adding extra texture."
David Court: "A crowd at the Benicassim festival[, Spain]. Most of the crowd were covered by the blue light, but this one girl was on someone’s shoulders and was wearing something that contrasted with the rest of the crowd."
Christopher Gower: "This photo of my son's bouncy ball was taken in Zante[, Greece] on a very hot summer's day. It makes me smile every time."
Claire Buckley: " I looked up, and I loved the clean lines of the building and graded grills on the windows against such an unusually clear blue sky that day."
Anjalika Baier: "I was given a handmade box and found it would make a great frame for photographing small items. My first attempt is an arrangement of spices I found in our kitchen."
Terence J Smith
Terence J Smith: "Located in the flower garden at the Starlight Chalet in the hills of the Blue Mountain, Jamaica. Fairest of the local fauna, these gems bring colour to an otherwise misty environ."
Emma Jackson: "Sherbet coloured doorway found while getting lost in the colourful backstreets of Granada, Nicaragua."
Maddie Ferguson: "This picture was created by photographing coloured sweets through glass, oil droplets and water."
Lynda Nolan: "I love this picture so much. I took it my garden last summer."
David Eckersley: "Taken on the promenade in Blackpool, outside a knitwear shop on a cold January morning. These mannequin heads were very colourful in their seasonal attire."
Bob Jacobs: "What would otherwise be a drab wall of concrete is brought to life with a splash of bright colours."
And finally, a picture of an oil stain on a wet road by Dennis Hodgson. The next theme is "floating", and the deadline for your entries is 2 February.
