Your pictures: Speed
Readers' photographs on the theme of speed.
Each week, we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week it is "speed", and we begin with this photograph by Jonathan Marsh, of a Spitfire at the RAF Cosford Air Show.
Debojyoti Lahiri: "The picture was taken while driving from Crozet to Charlottesville [Virginia] at the end of a road trip on a stormy night with a heavy snow storm. My wife was really excited about the colours and the way the snow was splashing on our car. She spontaneously took out the camera we had back then and asked me to shoot as I was sitting on the front passenger seat."
Troels K Thomsen
Troels K Thomsen: "Our Icelandic sheep-dog is very fond of water. Here, she is enjoying herself to the fullest after a Saturday swim at the sea on the west coast of Denmark."
Jeff White: "Endless sand on a beach in the Middle East, where the freedom to run is not restricted. My daughter at full pelt."
Dipayan Bose: "This photo was taken in front of Science City in Kolkata [Calcutta]. This is a statue of a dinosaur, but fast moving traffic makes it alive. It looks like the old empire of dinosaur[s] has came back and there is a rush in the city for [that] reason."
Steven McFeeters: "While taking the ferry from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island[, Canada,] a [sea scooter] decided to have some fun jumping on the waves. The speed is accentuated by the craft cutting through the water."
Simon Hulatt sent this image from the Hull Soapbox Derby.
Jonathan Wells: "Red Arrows' Gypo break at Airbourne 2015, Eastbourne, East Sussex."
Iain Galbraith: "Here's mud in your eye. It was taken last year at the Colin McRae Rally in Perthshire, and there was mud in my eyes."
Erica Redfern: "Taken with my phone whilst undertaking garden maintenance work in Elsenham, north Essex. He was really quite a speedy snail. I call the photo Escape."
And finally, a photograph by Jane Hunt who said: "Sent from my dog, N I Bone." The next theme is "Craft", and the deadline for your entries is 15 September.
