A huge fire ripped through an industrial estate in Leeds on Monday. The blaze sent flames and a large plume of smoke up over the city and at its peak was attended to by more than 100 firefighters. Amer Latif's photo captures the intensity of the fire.
Birmingham's library was shrouded in red light on Wednesday evening, as cities and towns across England celebrated St George's Day. Daniel Sturley lives near the building.
Drivers watched as a lorry caught fire on the M25, near St Albans in Hertfordshire on Thursday. Police said the driver managed to get out of the lorry cab and no other vehicles were involved. James Woodward took this picture while waiting for the road to re-open.
The Queen celebrated her 88th birthday this week and the occasion was marked across the UK with traditional gun salutes. Cyril Tuckey from Banchory in Aberdeenshire celebrated his 100 birthday and proudly holds his card from the Queen.
Crowds of people spent the night sleeping in the streets of Rome ahead of an historic ceremony in Vatican City which resulted in two popes - John Paul II and John XXIII - being declared saints. Robeth Molina took his picture in the area around St Peter's Square.
