Les Ferdinand tackles issue of prostate cancer

Help

Having watched his grandfather suffer with the disease at the end of his life, former footballer Les Ferdinand knows the anguish caused by prostate cancer.

In an interview with the BBC's video strand Cause Celeb, for prostate cancer awareness month, he urged all men to put embarrassment aside and not be so "macho" about their health if they have any symptoms of the disease.

Ferdinand is frustrated that such topics are still taboo in the African Caribbean community, despite African Caribbean men being three times more likely to develop the condition than white men.
