EastEnders' character Tamwar, played by actor Himesh Patel, will be live tweeting throughout the soap's 30th anniversary celebrations this week.

In a first for a UK soap, he will tweet during special live elements of each show and Friday's fully live episode.

The mystery of who killed Lucy Beale will finally be solved this week during Thursday night's episode.

Tanwar's views will be posted on the official EastEnders Twitter feed and Facebook page as the drama unfolds.

"Tweeting in character is a first for me," says Patel, "but I think I know Tamwar well enough and I'm looking forward to giving the world his unique perspective on things as they unfold."
