Star Wars creator George Lucas marries
Star Wars creator George Lucas has married for the second time at a ceremony in California.
A spokeswoman for Lucasfilm confirmed the director had wed his long-term partner Mellody Hobson at his Skywalker Ranch on Saturday.
Lucas, 69, was previously married to film editor Marcia Lucas from 1969 to 1983.
It is the first marriage for Hobson, 44, who is chair of the board at Dreamworks Animation.
She is also president of investment firm, Ariel Investments.
Guests at the wedding included directors Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard.
Howard said on Twitter that the wedding was "a joy to behold" and the service "nothing short of profound".
The service was conducted by journalist Bill Moyers, who was once a Baptist minister.
Lucas recently won his first Emmy award for the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
He was presented with the prize by Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original film trilogy, at a ceremony earlier this month.
Last year, Lucas sold his production company to Disney, which subsequently announced a new series of Star Wars films.
The seventh movie in the sci-fi serial is due to start production in the UK next year and is scheduled for release in 2015.
