Mark Kermode on 2011 Academy Award nominations

The King's Speech, in which Colin Firth plays King George VI, has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards, followed closely by Western remake True Grit and Facebook film The Social Network.

Christopher Nolan's Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, picked up eight nominations, but failed to make any of the acting or directing categories.

Film critic Mark Kermode gave BBC News his verdict on the nominations, revealed his biggest surprise and made his predictions for likely winners.
