People's Choice: Twilight, Eminem and House top field

Vampire film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, TV series House MD and rapper Eminem won four prizes each at the People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

Eclipse's gongs included best movie and best film actress for Kristen Stewart, while British star Hugh Laurie won best actor in a drama for House MD.

Johnny Depp was voted best film actor and Glee won top TV comedy.

All 44 categories of the awards, which were broadcast on TV station CBS, were voted for by the public.

Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight movie franchise, also won best drama film while Stewart and co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner won the best on-screen team.

Eminem dominated the music categories, winning best male and best hip-hop artist while Love The Way You Lie, his duet with Rihanna - winner of best pop singer - won best song and video.

Singer Katy Perry won best female artist and favourite online sensation.

Among other winners were American Idol, which won best competition, favourite TV family The Simpsons, and best TV talk show host Conan O'Brien.
