Brian Sewell: 'The art world is not sacred'
Leading art critic Brian Sewell has said council-run galleries should sell off artworks to protect public services threatened by government spending cuts.
He added that "the art world is not sacred" and said he believes the National Gallery could dispose of up to 800 paintings that "aren't up to scratch".
Mr Sewell made his comments in response to an investigation by the BBC's Inside Out West programme.
