Japan's Nikkei closes down hampered by strong yen

Tokyo's benchmark stock index has closed lower in Christmas Day trading, with a stronger yen hampering exporters.

The Nikkei fell 0.11% to 18769.06, with trading limited as many other financial markets were closed for the holiday.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries shed 4.64% after saying Thursday it would postpone delivery of Japan's first commercial jetliner by a year.

Toshiba also fell, down 1.81%, capping a difficult week for the firm.
