China faces up to pollution issues


Chinese environmental groups have accused some of Apple's suppliers in the country of polluting the environment.

In response, Apple told the BBC it was committed to the highest standards of social responsibility.

But a company report released earlier this year found dozens of suppliers across the world were mishandling dangerous chemicals.

Jonathan Watts is an author who looks at the effects of China's pollution.

He says that as China gets more wealthy it will become more conscious about its environment.
