British Gas raises energy prices to more than £100 a month


Rising energy costs will hit home for millions of households on Thursday when British Gas raises its prices.

The company is increasing the average annual fuel bill by £190 a year to £1,219 meaning a monthly outlay of more than £100 for the first time.

Peter Smith from fuel poverty charity National Energy Action told Wake Up To Money if companies had any choice but to pass on their mounting costs to consumers.
