Japan supply shortages to hit hard 'in three months'


Supply chain shortages for tech companies will begin to hit hard only in three months, says industry expert Malcolm Penn.

The chief executive of technology research group Future Horizons notes that disruption to electricity and clean water supplies have been a key reason for the loss of productive capacity at chip makers and other facilities.

He also comments on the importance of flash chips - a product in which Japan is the dominant manufacturer.
