St Tropez bought by PZ Cussons

Consumer products group PZ Cussons has bought tanning specialist St Tropez from private equity group LDC for £62.5m in cash.

St Tropez makes about 30 self-tanning products, mainly for sale in the UK but also in the US and Australia.

The company made a pre-tax profit of £7.4m on revenues of £20.7m for the year to the end of July

PZ Cussons, which owns the Imperial Leather brand, said it saw "good growth opportunities" for St Tropez.

"I am thrilled that St Tropez is going to such a great home," said St Tropez's chief executive Michelle Feeney.
