Sally Yates spells out attorney general's role to Jeff Sessions in 2015

Sally Yates, who has been fired by Donald Trump for refusing to endorse his controversial travel ban on seven Muslim countries, was asked in 2015 whether the attorney general should say no to the president if the president asked for something "unlawful".

She was asked by Mr Trump's pick for the post, Jeff Sessions, who is awaiting Senate confirmation.
