Charlotte street protests prompt state of emergency

Protests have erupted for a second night in the US city of Charlotte, over the death of a black man who was shot by police.

Riot police have been firing tear gas to disperse angry crowds in the city centre, and the state governor of North Carolina has declared a state of emergency.
