US Coast Guard boat flips during rescue

A US Coast Guard boat has flipped and capsized while it was responding to a fishing vessel that had run aground off the coast of New York on Thursday morning.

Dramatic footage from the scene shows a number of Coast Guard crew members being airlifted to safety from the Carolina Queen III, which was left stranded amid high seas and strong winds.

Seven fishermen were rescued and taken to hospital for observation. No casualties were reported.
