US pharma boss Martin Shkreli held on fraud charges

Martin Shkreli, the pharmaceutical entrepreneur who sparked outrage by drastically raising the price of a life-saving drug, has been charged with fraud.

He was arrested in Manhattan, New York, accused of running a "Ponzi scheme" where assets from one of the companies he was leading were illegally used to pay off the debts of another.

The allegations are unrelated to the controversy over price hikes.

Jane O'Brien reports.
