Huge fuel tanker blaze holds up California freeway

A fuel tanker in California has caught fire in the middle of a freeway, shutting it down in both directions.

The blaze caused huge traffic tail-backs south of Los Angeles.

The tanker was reportedly carrying 8,700 gallons of fuel when one of its tyres burst.

Fire engines struggled to reach the blaze but the driver was able to escape without injury.
