Vincent Asaro cleared in 'Goodfellas' heist case

A man accused of planning a 1978 airport heist that helped to inspire the Mafia film Goodfellas has been found not guilty at a court in Brooklyn.

Eighty-year-old Vincent Asaro was cleared of murder, extortion and other crimes after a three-week trial.

As he left the courthouse, Mr Asaro joked to his lawyer: "Sam, don't let them see the body in the trunk."

Laura Bicker reports from Washington.
