FAO Schwarz flagship closes in New York

This week, one of the biggest names in the toy business is shutting the doors of its Fifth Avenue location in New York City.

FAO Schwarz has been around for more than 150 years - but this iconic location, its home for the last three decades, has come to define the brand.

It's yet another casualty of a city-wide spike in retail rents. And its departure is leaving a hole in the hearts of many New Yorkers and tourists alike.
