Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is the court's sole African African justice. He has also famously not asked a question at oral arguments in nine years.

In this 2006 clip, Thomas questions a lawyer in the case of Holmes v South Carolina, the last time he did so.

The case involved a challenge by a man convicted of rape and murder who was not allowed to present evidence a third party committed the crime because of forensic evidence a judge believed was extremely strong.
