Syria in 'clear violation' of norms, says White House
The recent alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria was a "clear violation" of international norms, White House spokesman Jay Carney has said.
Speaking to reporters at a White House briefing, Mr Carney said US President Barack Obama was now weighing an appropriate response to the incident.
Mr Carney added that the US believes the Syrian government has control of a chemical weapons stockpile, and has the ability to use rockets to deliver them.
